Is it good?

Department of Health and Social Care (Digital) has put efforts and engineered a sophisticated weight app. What makes it successful? It is very easy to use for such a solid health app with built-in loss features. Well, as a top-performing app with an overall rating of 4.45 I can only add what people who have tried it are saying.

I’m now on my second 12-week course and managed to lose a stone in weight in my first 12 weeks. I’m continuing because my aim is to have a BMI of less than 30 and I’ve still a little way to go. But I can’t speak highly enough of this app and the accompanying Active10 and meal planner apps. They have helped me plan what I eat and change my eating habits - my big issues were portion size and irregular meal times. By calorie counting meals and eating regularly with the guidance of an accompanying health and wellness course that my local authority offer (one you haringey) I’m hopefully changing bad eating habits for good. It’s not always easy but is worth it. And I urge people thinking about losing weight to use this app. It’s working for me.
I really rate this app, it’s free and really simple to use, great alongside other NHS health apps (Easy Meals, Couch 25k, Active 10, Drink Less, etc). Have never managed to lose as much and stay as motivated going to the usual weight loss groups that you pay loads for, this has taken the mystery out of losing weight- I haven’t felt hungry and it has felt totally manageable and healthy this time. I’ve lost 2 stone in the first 3 months, granted it has probably been easier during lockdown, given the opportunities for temptation have been more limited but the app has kept me focused and on task. Now in a healthy BMI but in the top side of this so have decided to restart the app and keep going to get somewhere in the middle of it.
